Enjoy some beautiful sentences:
Our legs were so heavy and cold that they felt like blocks of ice. The lake shone like glass in the setting sun and looked wonderful. Simile: use “like or as” to compare two different things. She is as stubborn as a mule. He is as strong as a horse. They are as poor as church mouse.

Metaphor:things are compared without using “like”or “as”.it is as if sb. or sth. has become sb./sth. else. ? Have you ever seen snowmen ride bicycles?
