把下列直接引语改为间接引语

1.He said: “I’ve left my pen in my
room.”→

He told me that he had left his
book in his room. 2.She said: “He will be busy.”→ She said that he would be busy.

3.She said to Tom, “Can you help
me?”→

She asked Tom if/whether he could
help her.

Request and command
Open your books. command

Please open your books. request (polite)
Can you open your books please? request (polite) Could / would you please open you books? request (polite)

Change the commands into requests.
Close the door! Get me something to drink. Take the dog for a walk! Speak louder! Clean your room. Watch out! Keep silent!

Find the rules when a command or a request is changed into an indirect speech

“Make sure the door is open,” the teacher said to me.
The teacher told me to make sure the door was open.

The officer said to him, “Don’t leave your post.”
The officer ordered him not to leave his post.

“Will you please not smoke here?” she said.
She asked me not to smoke there.

Can you discover the rules? 祈使句的直接引语变间接引语采用: “动词+宾语+不定式”结构。

当直接引语是祈使句时, 变成间接引语的要点是: 1.去掉引号要加to, ask, order须记住, 2.表示请求,用ask sb. to do sth 3.表示命令,用 tell /order sb. to do sth.

直引若是否定式,not 加在to前面。

祈使句中的please 在间接引语中必须省去
“Will you please not smoke here?” she said.

She asked me not to smoke there.

补充:直接引语如果是以“Let’s”开头 的祈使句,变为间接引语时,通常用 “suggest +doing / that-clause.” 例如:

He said, "Let’s go to the film."
→He suggested going to the film.

或He suggested that they should go to
see the film.

解析:如果直接引语是“What’s the
matter?” “What’s wrong?” “What’s the

trouble?”, 变间接引语时语序不变。

6. He asked , “Are you a Party member
or a League member?”

→He asked me ______.
A. am I a Party member or a League member B. was I a Party member or a League member C. whether I was a Party member or a League member D. whether was I a Party member or a League member

7. “You’ve already got well, haven’t you?” she asked. →She asked ________. A. if I have already got well, hadn’t you B. whether I had already got well C. have I already got well D. had I already got well.
解析: 反意疑问句要变成whether或 if
引导的宾语从句.

8. He asked ________ for the computer.
A. did I pay how much

B. I paid how much

9.The boy said, “May I go along with you?”

The boy asked me ___.
A. if I might go along with you

B. if he might go along with you

Work in pairs. Turn them into commands and requests. First use direct speech, then use indirect speech.
Dos Buy some bread for me. Help me tidy the room. Don’ts Make too much noise. Forget to put your umbrella in the stand. Speak quietly on the phone. Smoke in the bathroom. Turn down the radio. Stay up too late.

? It is said that there are two robots. One is called “slave robot”, who can only hear commands, the other is called “friend robot”, who can only respond to request. If you give correct requests or commands, they will do whatever you have them do.
