1.能够熟记和正确使用下列单词和短语:hair,curly,long, short, straight , height, tall, medium, thin,heavy,build. Knowledge 2.能运用以下句型描述一个人的外貌特征: -- What does he/she look like? --He/She is tall and has long hair. --What do you look like? --I’m thin. Teaching aims Ability 1.让学生能积极思维,在生活中灵活运用所学单词,短语及句型。 2.使学生能概括人物的外貌特征或根据人物特征描述来判断猜出是某一人 物。 1.通过对同学、教师或自己偶像友好地外貌描述,让学生在人际交往中能 多发现别人的优点,从而学会理解他人、尊重他人、让学生真正懂得心灵 Emotion 美才是最美,千万不要以貌取人。 2.在完成学习任务的前提下,同学间的积极协作,团结互助,不仅增强了学 生的情谊,还能在提高英语的同时共同尽情享受学习的乐趣。 Key point

掌握本课新单词和句型及怎样描述一个人的外貌。

Teaching procedures Step1 Warming up .

Teacher’s activities Guide the students to master some words of body parts. Then use these words to play a game :Touch your body. Show the different pictures and ask the questions.Encourage the students to review the words and help them describe the people’s looks.

Students’ activities

Designing purposes Have an interest motivation for students and make a better teaching atmosphere before class. Give the students more opportunities to practice speaking English.Then lead in the topic through the casualcommunication in English With the teacher ’ s help, students should grasp the important structure. in order to do enough preparation for the next teaching activities. Have the students use the knowledge to finish the practice. It can help them understand the grammar better. Listening practice with putting its purpose in improving students’ listening competence .It can help them free to have daily communication in their daily life. Help the students use the target language to express their different ideas in our real life. It can improve their oral English.

Learn to read the words and play the game together.

Step2 Lead-in

The student can answer the teacher’s question differently .Maybe they can express their different opinions.

Step3 Presentation

Guide the students to master the useful structures to describe the people and understand the usage between has and is.

Students can think it over and find the grammar regular with the help of teacher. Then listen to the teacher’s explanation carefully. The students try to use the knowledge to practice describing the stars’ looks. Some students can express it for class.

Step4 Practice

Guide the students to do the exercises with the useful expressions.

Step5 Listening practice

Organize the students to listen to the tape and help Listen and understand the them finish the listening dialogue. Then finish the activities on the book. Then listening exercises. check the answers together. Get the students use the knowledge to describe somebody in our real life. (your friend\your teacher \your favorite movie star)And encourage them to use English to solve the problems in small groups The students try to describe somebody’s look with the knowledge we have learnt..Then show their description and other group students can guess “Who is it ?”

Step6 Production Group work

Step7 Sum up

Help the students review the important phrases and structures in this class.

Maybe the students can ask each other:“What did you learn in this class?” some students can answer the question.

Teacher help them review the knowledge and generalization together with the students for what they have learnt and do comprehensive revision for this lesson.

Homework

Draw a picture of your parents and describe her/him. 描述人物的句型: 1、 人物+be+形容词(身高/体型): be + tall/short /of medium height + heavy/thin / of medium build 2、人物+have/has+形容词(发型) have / has + short hair/long hair + straight/curly hair
